Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Shanakee ("we", "our", or "us"), a family story collection service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The Service
Shanakee helps family organizers send story prompts to relatives, collect audio recordings, and preserve them in a private family archive. Features and limits may vary by plan.
Accounts and Trials
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure.
- New accounts may include a free trial with limited family members until a paid plan is activated.
- You are responsible for activity under your account, including story requests sent to family members.
Billing and Plans
- Paid plans are billed as one-time annual payments through Stripe Payment Links.
- Plans do not auto-renew. We notify you before your paid term ends so you can renew manually.
- Family member limits depend on your active plan tier. Downgrades may restrict access to excess members until you upgrade or remove members.
- Unpaid invoices past the stated grace period may lock account access until payment is received.
- Prices and tier limits are shown on the billing page at the time you select a plan.
Your Content
- You retain ownership of prompts, recordings, and other content you or your family submit.
- You grant us a limited license to store, process, and deliver that content solely to operate the service.
- You confirm you have permission to collect and store recordings from family members you invite.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful, harassing, or abusive purposes
- Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization
- Interfere with the security or operation of the service
- Upload malware or content you do not have rights to share
Termination
You may stop using Shanakee at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or for non-payment after applicable grace periods. You may request account deletion through support; see the Privacy Policy for data handling details.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Shanakee.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
